Route 2.
Church of our Lady of Perpetual Succour.
The church at Foxrock is situated on the
corner of the Stillorgan Road
and Kill Lane. It is a beautiful granite building in the old style.
The building
corner stone was laid in June 1934 and the church was subsequently
consecrated in June 1935. The granite used in its construction was
mainly sourced locally in Wicklow. The church once served the
parishes
of Ballybrack and Cabinteely , in 1971 the parish of Foxrock was
established.
Some of the noticeable internal aspects of the church are its
central nave
and its baptismal font. The church also contains some nice shrines
and
an impressive altar.
The church is still in practical daily use, with the mornings given
over to Mass,
some Rosary groups in some
churches, and funerals. So unless I intended to
fully
attend mass I would normally keep my three Saints visits to the
Some internal features.
