Route 3.
St. Joseph’s Parish Church.
The front aspect of the church in Glasthule is particularly
impressive
due to its large rose glass window. The building itself is situated
on Summerhill road just down and on the opposite side to the Dart
station.
The church was first opened after construction in the late 1860s.and
thus
is over 150 years in service to the local community.
The church is still in practical daily use, with the mornings given
over to Mass,
some Rosary groups in some
churches, and funerals. So unless I intended to
fully attend mass I
would normally keep my three Saints visits to the
afternoons, this is after the 12noon Angelus and before 3.30pm approximately.
